Globally, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs estimates that 168 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance, and humanitarian needs are climbing at an unprecedented pace. Funding for humanitarian response has not increased in kind. If the international community is to successfully stretch limited resources to deliver life-saving sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services to affected populations, it is critical that actors are better prepared to respond. This webinar provided an opportunity to learn more about ongoing preparedness efforts for SRH that engage communities, local governments, and providers in Pakistan, the Philippines, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Panelists’ experience will help us to consider the question–who is responsible for preparedness?
