Food shortages. Lack of access to safe drinking water. Unacceptable maternal and child mortality rates. These are just a few of the pressing and interrelated challenges that the new Sustainable Development Goals aim to address by 2030. Achievement of these goals will require incredible resources, innovation, and hard work. Luckily, the global development community has some relatively low-cost but highly effective tools to help us succeed—tools like voluntary contraceptive services.

Family planning has a strong ripple effect across all 17 Sustainable Development Goals. K4Health’s new animation, Family Planning: A Key to Unlocking the Sustainable Development Goals, illustrates how and why family planning is vital to our ability to meet global development challenges, from reducing poverty to slowing climate change to preventing civil unrest.
