The Power of Partnership

READ THE REPORT

How do you measure the impact of a catalyst? Because that’s what the FP2030 partnership is: a series of catalysts that multiply the efforts of disparate governments, organizations, advocates, and donors to accelerate the progress of family planning.

FP2030 commitment makers have a shared vision of a world where all people have the means to plan their futures — where a girl in India can go all the way through school, find a skill, and start a family when she is ready. Where women in Madagascar are partners in efforts to build industries and communities resilient to climate change. Where people can get health care no matter what they look like or who they love.

In the FP2030 Measurement Report, we can see the concrete impact of our shared efforts, in the accelerated growth in the number of women using family planning, the expanded mix of contraceptive methods available to people seeking family planning, and something else. We know what we are doing together works.

But all that data cannot capture the collaboration, shared learning, and partnership that fuel that progress, so we are bringing the partnership to life here through stories, photos, and videos. FP2030 commitment makers will tell you in their own words how this partnership accelerates their work. You will read how the FP2030 partnership enables learning exchanges to improve domestic resource mobilization for family planning. It gives a platform for youth leaders to expand their strategy of youth-led comprehensive sex education and reproductive health advocacy. And it is connecting national and local family planning programs with real-time market intelligence.

I am so deeply inspired by the innovative ways FP2030 partners are shifting the narrative around family planning and sparking a stronger movement. I hope you will read these stories and be inspired to make a commitment and tell your own story about how this global partnership is helping to build the world we all want to see.

Onward!

"FP2030 and our commitment to family planning broadly have enabled us to develop really impactful partnerships with service providers and with government. It lends credibility to what we’re doing... And we feel our contribution is part of a bigger effort to solving a global problem."

AHBN’s story is a great example of how local nonprofits can work with governments to drive progress on family planning. Read more.

Young people lead the way in reproductive health policy

"Midwives play a key role in family planning; they deliver more than babies. The fact that competent midwives can provide 90% of sexual and reproductive health care services, including family planning and contraceptives, shows their potential, but we know that they make up only 10% of the global health workforce. We need to optimize their scope of practice and work to reduce the global shortage of midwives."
