Lira has more than 19 years of experience in gender equality and women empowerment (gender-based violence), peacebuilding and sustainable development.
Before joining FP2030, Lira worked as Technical Coherence Lead in the joint EU-UN Spotlight Programme, UN Women; Programme Officer (CSO Organizational Development, Central Asia) in PeaceNexus; Programme Policy Officer in UN WFP and Programme Manager in UNDP Peace and Development Programme. Lira has served as a task force in multiple Inter-Ministerial Working Groups (drafting gender equality strategy, policy on child marriage, CEDAW reports, peace and sustainable development related policies and sectoral programs). Lira holds the Master of Arts in Political Philosophy (The Idea of Toleration) degree from the University of York, UK.
