Family planning is responsible for so much success and prosperity in the world – yet the role it plays is so foundational it is often overlooked. The ability to decide if and when to become a parent unlocks the ability to chase your dreams: they’re using contraception so they can finish a degree, or excel at work, or they’re waiting to start a family until they meet the right partner. Maybe they don’t want to ever be pregnant, and they’re able to shape a different life for themselves by using contraception.

“Made Possible by Family Planning” is a global campaign to raise new money, galvanize new leadership, and spark new momentum for rights-based family planning. By the end of 2025, the #MadePossibleByFP campaign seeks to raise $1 billion dollars for family planning and unlock new commitments from governments and changemakers.

Family planning unlocks a new world of what’s possible – dream jobs, healthy families, and thriving communities are all made possible by family planning. Those individual success stories have a huge impact on a national and global scale: Countries become more stable, their economies grow, and their populations become healthier when women can use family planning. Family planning isn’t just an expenditure for governments – it’s an investment, and it pays dividends.

For every dollar invested in family planning, benefits to families and societies are estimated to be at least $8.78, altogether generating $660 billion in economic benefits by 2050.
