Fundación Oriéntame

Oriéntame provides abortion and post-abortion care, including the initiation of post-abortion contraceptive methods, as well as counseling and initiation of interval contraceptive methods.

Currently, in Colombia, Oriéntame raises awareness of sexual and reproductive rights among 7,000 adolescents, young people, and adult women annually. By 2025, in line with the EWEC strategy, they aim to reach 10,000 adolescents, young people, and adult women annually, sensitized to decide freely on the use of contraceptive methods and on the decision to have or not to have children.

Fundación Oriéntame Commitment Narratives

  • Raise awareness about sexual and reproductive health services in Colombia, with a gender and rights approach.
  • Provide abortion and post-abortion care, including the initiation of post-abortion contraceptive methods.
  • Offer counselling and initiation of interval contraceptive methods.
  • Contribute to achieving Goal 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
  • Specifically, contribute to achieving target 5.6: Ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights.
  • Raise awareness on sexual and reproductive rights among 10,000 adolescents, young people and adult women annually by 2025.
  • Provide counselling and uptake of modern contraceptive methods to more than 4,700 adolescent and young women in different regions of the country by 2025.
  • Provide clear and timely information on contraceptive options within the framework of sexual and reproductive rights through a communication and awareness strategy implemented by Oriéntame in 7 cities in the country, reaching at least 28,000 young and/or migrant women in the next four-year period (2022-2025).
  • Increase the initiation of modern contraception methods in young women and adolescents (under 25 years of age) by at least 5% in the next four-year period (2022-2025).
