Recognizing that the causes of maternal mortality are associated with the unmet need for family planning, Sri Lanka commits to promoting rights-based family planning, increasing service delivery points, capacity building of the health workforce, and strengthening postpartum and post-abortion care.
With a goal to increase the modern contraceptive prevalence rate (mCPR) from 53.6% to 57.2% by 2025.
Commitments made to:
The government of Sri Lanka commits to including a budget line for reproductive health in 2019 and to engage the education sector to address the accessibility of adolescents and youth to family planning services and information.
