At Save the Children Colombia, our mission is to protect the most vulnerable children, who face the challenges of migration, conflict, climate change and violence. In this context, sexual and reproductive health (SRH) becomes a fundamental pillar to ensure their well-being and holistic development.
In 2023, we took an important step by providing comprehensive care to over 6,000 people directly, offering SRH counseling, prevention of sexually transmitted infections, and supply of contraceptive methods for young people and adolescents. Additionally, we indirectly benefited 17,000 people through key messages and SRH education in community and school settings, in collaboration with various sectors and projects.

As part of the global strategy “Ambition for Children 2030,” we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring access to quality services, accurate information, and a non-discriminatory environment. We aim to empower children, adolescents, women, and men of all sexual orientations, gender identities, ethnicities, and health conditions, including LGBTIQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, and indigenous communities, to make informed decisions about their sexual health.
Save the Children Colombia Commitment Narratives
- Provide comprehensive sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services to 7,000 people in Colombia, including children, adolescents, women, and men of all sexual orientations, gender identities, ethnicities, and health conditions.
- Offer information and education on SRH to 17,000 community members through workshops, informational campaigns, and educational materials.
- Conduct capacity-building programs for 500 health professionals, focused on SRH with an emphasis on gender and human rights. These programs will improve the quality and patient-centered care of SRH services, ensuring that healthcare providers are well-prepared to meet the unique needs of vulnerable populations.
