The Government of Angola commits to boosting family planning funding by at least 10% annually, expanding access to high-quality services, and implementing gender-focused programs to empower women in reproductive health decision-making.
Angola has also pledged to increase the contraceptive prevalence rate from 17% to 30% and reduce unmet contraceptive needs from 28.5% to below 20% by 2030.

By the end of 2030, the Government of Angola has committed to ensuring all Angolan women, men, adolescents, and youth are able to determine the ideal and desired time for childbearing and fulfill their reproductive health rights through access to information, RH products, and high-quality family planning services.
Their commitment will focus on transformative family planning interventions to improve service access, ensuring the full implementation of all commitments under the National FP2030 Plan.
Angola Commitment Objectives
- Increase the contraceptive prevalence rate by 13% (from 17% to 30%) by 2030 for all women, men, adolescents, and youth.
- Expand access and awareness of contraceptive methods in rural and urban areas to reduce the unmet need for contraception from 28.5% to below 20% by 2030.
- Implement gender-focused programs and empower women to enhance autonomy in reproductive health decision-making.
- Boost family planning funding by at least 10% annually (2022–2030) to strengthen contraceptive supply chains, service delivery, and demand generation.
- Reduce adolescent pregnancy rates from 163 per 1,000 to 100 per 1,000 by 2030.
