The “Alianza por la Niñez Colombiana” (Alliance for Colombian Childhood) is an organization with more than 20 years of experience working on childhood issues.
It currently has 26 member organizations focused on guaranteeing the rights of girls, boys and adolescents in Colombia. The different approaches and scope of action of these organizations allow for a comprehensive perspective of the guarantee of rights for girls, boys and adolescents in all environments. Member organizations have programs that directly serve children, focus on families directly and/or work on institutional strengthening. The Alliance has a national scope, with actions implemented throughout the national territory (strengthened by the global experiences of those organizations that have international influence).

Vision
The Alliance has led legislative initiatives around guaranteeing the rights of adolescents. It is currently leading the initiative on the repeal of child marriage and carrying out social control on issues of sexual violence and teenage pregnancy. During the commitment period, the Alliance aims to generate legislative initiatives that will improve indicators related to teenage pregnancy, child marriage and sexual violence, as well as strengthen the capacities of adolescents and facilitate access to sexual and reproductive health services.
Although the Alliance does not carry out direct interventions with adolescents, member organizations benefit around 1.5 million girls, boys and adolescents and 1 million families, who are expected to be impacted through the changes generated in policy and legislation promoted by the Alliance.
Alianza por la Niñez Colombiana Commitment Narratives
- During the three-year commitment, we aim to promote changes in legislation on child marriage, guaranteeing the rights of adolescents over their sexual and reproductive health.
- During the three-year commitment, we expected to support and promote initiatives to improve the capacities and access of adolescents to sexual and reproductive health services.
