A Burkina Faso where people, especially women, adolescents, young people, and disadvantaged groups including those affected by the humanitarian crisis, have free and equitable access to quality Reproductive Health/Family Planning information and services, in a resilient health system, by 2030.

Burkina Faso Commitment Objectives

  • Enhance the institutional anchoring of sexual and reproductive health/family planning coordination by creating, under the auspices of the President of Burkina Faso, a multisectoral body bringing together ministries, research institutions, civil society, the private sector, and technical and financial partners by 2023.
  • Increase the rate of modern contraceptive prevalence among women in the union from 31.9% in 2020 to 41.3% in 2025.
  • Increase the availability of contraceptive products from 51.6% in 2020 to 90% in service delivery points by the end of 2030.
  • To make reproductive health/family planning information and services of quality available and accessible to populations in humanitarian crises, including specific groups, through the establishment of an effective mechanism for preparedness, response, and resilience from 2021 to 2025.
  • Improve the availability and accessibility of quality reproductive health information and services tailored to the needs of adolescents and young people in 100% of public health facilities, including school/university clinics and outreach spaces, by 2025.
  • Based on the 2021 budget, increase the budget line allocated by the government for the purchase of contraceptive products by at least 10% each year from 2022 to 2025.
