The mission of Amref Health Africa is to increase sustainable health access to communities in Africa through solutions in human resources for health, health services delivery and investments.

Their commitment is centered on three core areas: (1) strengthening health systems, (2) building the capacity of healthcare workers, and (3) empowering communities to take control of their health.

Amref Health Africa Commitment Narratives

  • Support health systems to provide high-quality sexual and reproductive health services in the context of universal health coverage.
  • Advocate for political commitment and adequate resources for family planning programs.
  • Support social accountability for sexual and reproductive health and family planning indicators by engaging young people and leveraging existing platforms.
  • Offer technical advice and support to nations, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), FP2030 representatives, youth groups, and advocates.
  • Integrate FP 2030 strategies into development and health agendas to increase women and youth participation, eliminate barriers, and promote access to age-appropriate services.
  • Track Sexual and Reproductive Health and Family Planning (SRH/FP) commitments for ICPD+25 in at least 15 African countries through youth-led organizations.
  • Ensure policy implementation and resource allocation for inclusive and universal access to SRHR.
  • Work towards ending harmful practices affecting adolescents and youth.
