With over a decade of dedicated experience in financial, operational, and grant management, Lydiah Gachenge currently serves as a Programme Accountant for FP 2030 East and Southern Africa Regional Hub.

Armed with a Master’s in Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor’s in Commerce, she is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (ICPAK) and an active member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. 

In her current role, Lydiah brings a strategic and results-oriented approach to financial management. Her responsibilities include the development of proposal budgets, annual budget preparation, and meticulous monitoring of budget performances. She plays a pivotal role in financial reporting to FP2030 ESA Hub donors and management, actively participates in audits, and ensures the implementation of audit recommendations. Additionally, Lydiah manages debtors and creditors, maintains staff debtor accounts, and ensures compliance with donor rules and regulations. 

Lydiah’s professional journey includes a significant tenure as a Senior Finance Officer at the International Centre for Reproductive Health Kenya (ICRHK). In this role, she achieved remarkable milestones, such as implementing a new accounting system and customizing an ERP system to enhance efficiency and internal controls. She successfully managed multiple sexual and reproductive health programs and research projects funded by prominent organizations, including USAID/PEPFAR, UNFPA, EU, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, WHO, FCDO, and KNH. 

Prior to her role at ICRHK, Lydiah gained valuable experience in the corporate sector and interned at the National Hospital Insurance Fund. Her commitment to continuous learning is evident through her completion of courses such as Project Management in Global Health, Fundamentals of Global Health Research, and Policy Development & Advocacy for Global Health from the University of Washington. Lydiah has actively participated in various seminars and conferences, contributing to the field through publications in peer-reviewed journals. 

Beyond her professional achievements, Lydiah is a socially engaged individual with interests in socializing, traveling, and community service. Her multifaceted skills and extensive experience make her a valuable asset in managing financial operations and contributing to organizational growth and sustainability.
