Montserrat Miranda is a psychologist graduated from the Universidad Católica Santa María la Antigua in Panama.

She holds a master’s degree in “Education, Gender, and International Development” from University College London  (Institute of Education) (Merit), obtained as a Chevening scholar from the United Kingdom. Additionally, she has a diploma in Women’s Human Rights from the Latin American Center for Human Rights (CLADH) and has participated in international conferences such as the Human Rights Conference in NYC in 2019, where she volunteered, and the World Conference on the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict in London 2023.

In her career as a humanitarian worker and human rights advocate, Montserrat has worked with various vulnerable groups, including migrant and refugee populations, women victims of gender-based violence, and the LGBTIQ+ community. Her experience includes roles as a Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response Advisor and a Strategic Advocacy and Alliances Officer at the HIAS office in Panama. In the last two years, Montserrat has contributed to Save the Children’s mission as the Regional Advocacy and Campaigns Coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean, where she promoted the recognition and protection of children’s rights in the region.

Montserrat is based in Panama and will report directly to Maria Paula Martinez.
