OASIS advances education and choice for women and girls in the Sahel. We do this by supporting local leadership and advocacy capacity, developing and scaling evidence-based programs, and conducting research to inform policy and practice.

OASIS Commitment Narratives

  • Through our Safe Spaces programs, OASIS commits to creating in-school and married adolescent girls’ safe spaces for at least an additional 2,400 girls each year in Niger (Lumière des Filles et des Femmes) and 270,000 girls each year in northern Nigeria (Center for Girls Education).
  • Through the Elles du Sahel Network, OASIS commits to advocate for an average increase of 10% in annual funding from Sahel Alliance donors to support girls’ education, SRHR or gender-based violence in Chad, Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, and Niger.
  • Through our Reproductive Health Access program, OASIS commits to improving access to essential medicines for reproductive health in three regions of Chad as well as in two additional countries.
