White Ribbon Alliance anticipates that the policy, program, facility, and resource changes brought about by their mobilization and advocacy efforts will benefit one billion women, girls, and gender minorities.
White Ribbon Alliance’s commitments support each focus area, but especially expanding the narrative and shaping the policy agenda, transforming social and gender norms, and improving system responsiveness to individuals’ rights and needs, especially for women and girls.

Vision
More than 2,000,000 women, girls, and gender minorities participate in White Ribbon Alliance’s advocacy campaigns and speak out about what they most want and need for their sexual, reproductive, and maternal health and related decision-making.
White Ribbon Alliance Commitment Narratives
- Mobilize 2,000,000+ women, girls, and gender minorities, including trans, intersex, and non-binary people, to provide them with the information they need for autonomous decision-making about their health, bodies, and well-being.
- Engage 500,000+ mobilized participants in ongoing, direct action to influence sexual, reproductive, maternal, and newborn health practices, policies, and programs in 10+ countries, both public and private.
- Enable informed choice free of violence, discrimination, and coercion by advocating for policies and programs that support the wants and needs of women, girls, and gender minorities.
- Establish a joint initiative to build confidence and skills among participants and community allies, empowering them to seek and distill information, ask questions, practice self-care, and negotiate safely in their everyday lives.
- Recruit and train a subset of 25,000 people, including men and boys, service providers, and policymakers, to serve as campaign ambassadors, promoting knowledge and empowerment among historically excluded populations.
