Lisa Godwin joined the USAID Office of Population and Reproductive Health as Deputy Director in May 2022. She most recently served as the Division Chief of the Neglected Tropical Diseases Division in the Office of Infectious Disease in Washington.
A career USAID Foreign Service Officer, Ms. Godwin has served in three overseas missions. She was the USAID/Rwanda Health Office Director, the HIV Team Leader at USAID/Uganda and a member of the Family Health team at USAID/Kenya. Prior to joining USAID, Ms. Godwin worked for 10 years in clinical care and health education roles in Lesotho, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Ghana, and the United States. This included two missions with Doctors Without Borders. With her background as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, Ms. Godwin has extensive experience providing direct patient care in difficult and underserved settings.
