Egypt

Social, cultural, and religious norms in Egypt have sometimes caused family planning to be stigmatized.

Reversing a more than 25-year pattern of declining fertility, the average number of children a woman has in her lifetime increased substantially between the 2008 and 2014 demographic and health surveys, from a level of 3.0 births per woman to 3.5 births per woman
